watch yourself
the ever tricky topic of an ex. depending on your partner, they may be perfectly comfortable talking about all the details of past relationships or they don’t want to hear a thing about it. i guess there are pro and cons to either side. the pro is if you understand their relationship and what went wrong or simply what didn’t work, then you can use that info to make sure she stays happy. on the other hand, too much info and you can’t help but to compare and contrast. i guess there’s a healthy level of info that you’ll have to agree on. personally, i’d advise learning as much as you can take. you’ll need all the information you can get!
nothing terribly complex with the artwork this week. trying to create that comfortable mood of finn and elle on the couch. and that last panel was tricky. i was going for a subtle surprise reaction with finn and a “you better watch yourself” implication from elle.
Nice, buddy. Really diggin’ the last panel – I think it all reads nicely as to the implications of what have been said.
Oooh, I can’t wait to see what the next strip is!
I like this comic enough that I just searched for a good half-hour to find it again, and I haven’t read it since February! Your artwork’s come a long way. =D
I don’t know which is worse: the art or the dialogue. What I do know is that you should probably not spend too much more time on this “comics” hobby of yours; trust me as an objective observer with no reason to be cruel- it’s not going to happen.
Wtf is this idiot J talking about…if you don’t like the comic strips don’t come to the page moron! If you don’t have anything constructive to write, don’t write anything at all… and that’s coming form an “objective observer with no reason to be cruel”
Concur w/Anthony (and the non-J folks), and I disagree completely w/J. I keep coming back to the comic (one of four I read) – so keep it up! And J – if you’re not trying to be cruel, then provide some useful feedback. Don’t just tell people to give up. As Twain said, small people always do that. Don’t be small.
Personally, Johnny, I really appreciate both the bit of discussion you include about the topic of the strip, and the discussion about what you’re trying with the artwork. As you know, sometimes it works better than others – but it’s far beyond what I get w/other comic writers (who basically say zilch). Thanks for all your effort!
The important thing is seeing progress in art and dialogue. I think it’s come a long way. Great work. I think J stands for jealous jackass.
