as long as you’re there
Chapter: finn comics
for this week’s strip, i was thinking about how in the morning, as we’re waking up, practically every position is comfortable. your arm could be bent backwards, going numb, and you’d swear this is the most comfortable position ever! throw in the added factor of your significant other and it’s easy to see why it’s easy not to get up and spend all morning (or day) just in bed.
as for the artwork, i forgot one crucial element to the bed scene – pillows! but i did like how the stripes on the sheets turned out, as well as the various sleeping positions. although, it is a comic strip and therefore i should have exaggerated the awkwardness of the sleeping positions more.
Nice work, and oh so true. I can forgive the lack of pillows – half the time I wake up with the pillow by my feet or on the floor – so it’s not unlikely that they wouldn’t be in frame.
Just a suggestion for the art – it might be cool to get a little shadow of indentation underneath the characters, like where they are pressing into the fabric. Just a layer of darkening around their silhouettes.
It looks like they are doing some interpretive dance in brown rain. Very Artzy.
Oh, and the knee in the back, in the third panel. That’s the worst!
